Are you trying to promote a business online? Are you wondering which marketing formats work the best? There is one marketing approach that you can use that involves HTML in order to increase the effectiveness of the advertisements. When you use this type of marketing, you can display your entire web page within the email boxes of your customers.

The best part about this approach to email advertising is the fact that you can make it much easier to convince customers that they should check out your product offerings. When you have a website presented to your customers, they will certainly be more intrigued than they would be if a plain text email arrived in their inbox. A plain text email can only include links to the true website that you want your customers to see too.

If you use this type of marketing for your advertising strategies, you will be able to create not only an interesting presentation for your customers, but you will also be able to present an interactive presentation. It is this interactive nature that makes customers feel more intrigued when they are viewing your ads in this format.

By using HTML advertising, you will be positive that you are creating an impression in the minds of the consumers that you are contacting with your emails. When you can create an impression in the minds of the consumers you are working with, you can be sure that you will be able to make more sales with the customers that you contact.

When you are using this type of advertising, you will certainly witness the benefits you can receive by creating your emails with more colour than traditional emails. When you have emails that provide a great deal of colour, rather than simple text, you can be sure that customers will be attracted to the contents of the email as soon as they see it.

There are many benefits to be had from using this type of email marketing, but one of the primary benefits that you will receive is a higher response rate on your emails. When you get the higher response ate, you will certainly know that customers prefer emails that have a level of interactivity, along with colorful pictures and displays, in their advertisements.

Standard emails are simply a thing of the past in the world of email marketing. If you want to ensure your emails will be read, you need to start using HTML within your email advertisements. As soon as you do start incorporating these elements into your ads, you will see a noticeable increase in the amount of success you can achieve with your opportunity.

Finding the best Internet Marketer around is the only way to see success. You home business will be one that will see a profit when you market it correctly. Jump online and find out the steps to success.

HTML is a markup language used to create web pages designed to be accessed across the World Wide Web using browser software such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. The version of HTML in current use is referred to as XHTML, a stricter, rationalised version of the original HTML specification. One important fact to note about HTML and XHTML pages is that they describe the content and structure of the page rather than the position and presentation of the elements on the page.

The first significant difference between an HTML and XHTML page is the document type definition. There are several ways in which this specification can be done in Adobe Dreamweaver. One of the most convenient is to go to the Modify menu and choose Page Properties. Here, in the category marked Title/Encoding, one of the options reads Document Type (DTD).

There are several options available in the drop-down menu next to this setting, some relating to HTML version 4 and some to XHTML version 1. These DTD settings specify the rules for the mark-up language so that the browsers can render the content correctly. For any new content that you create, the best specification to choose is XHTML 1.0 transitional since it uses the current XHTML specification while allowing backward compatibility with slightly older browsers.

When looking at an HTML page, the structural content may not always be that obvious. However Dreamweaver provides a number of useful utilities for keeping tabs on the structure of your web page content. One of the most useful is the Tag Selector. Wherever you position the cursor, the HTML code relating to that part of the page is displayed in the bottom left of the page on the Status Bar in an area known as the Tag Selector.

When the browser reads the page, the tags surrounding text and other elements tell the browser the structural importance of each element. The H1 tag tells the browser that a piece of text is a major heading. The H2 tag signifies a sub-heading, and so on. As these tags are displayed in the Tag Selector, you can get an idea of the structure of the page and you can also click on the tags to select the element they contain.

The tags tell the browser the structural importance of each element. However the page doesn\’t contain any information that helps the browser decide how each element should be displayed. This is the job of CSS Cascading Style Sheets. An XHTML page is still essentially an HTML page. However, its syntax is stricter. Let\’s take a couple of examples…

XHTML is case sensitive: HTML is not. In XHTML, tags are always lowercase so the H1 tag has to be written h1. In HTML H1 or h1 can be used.

In XHTML, the closing tag of an element cannot be ommitted: in HTML it is permissible to have an opening tag without a closing tag. One such example is the horizontal rule element (hr) which creates a dividing line between two sections on a webpage. This element is represented by a single tag, since it can never be used as a container for other stuff. In XHTML, there is a special syntax for such non-container elements: a single tag which is both an opening and closing tag (hr/). In HTML, the single opening tag is used without the need for a closing tag (hr).

In summary, XHTML is the current version of HTML and this is the standard that you should use for any new projects. However, existing projects that you may inherit may well contain HTML rather the XHTML. Therefore, you should be aware of both. Remember also that HTML and XHTML describe only the structure of web page content: neither of them should contain information regarding the presentation and display of this content. The display and presentation of web content should be done using CSS.

Membership websites are becoming all the rage – not only do they represent income to a business, they are an excellent way to develop a community around your businesses products and services.

When creating a membership website, choosing the right membership model is one of the keys to its success.

If you don\’t choose the right model you could be creating a lot of extra work for yourself or, worse, you may not deliver what your members expect. Neither of these situations are desirable, and taking the time to decide exactly what you want to deliver with your membership site and how you want to deliver it, is essential.

This article assumes that, by now, you\’ve completed the basic research required before starting any business (online or offline):

1. Identifying your niche

2. Finding a need in that niche (a problem that needs solving)

3. Determining whether it will be profitable

4. Deciding on what are you going to sell

5. Determining how you will deliver the product or service to your customer

If you can\’t provide answers to the five points above, you can\’t even be certain whether a membership site is the right way to go.

If you do have the answers though, the next step is to ask yourself the following questions, and write your answers down:

* What type of content will be delivered to your customers – text, video, audio?

* How often will you be delivering that content?

** Will it be all at once, will you be adding content over time or have you created all the content but want to drip feed it to members?

* Do you only want members to have access to the current months content?

* Is the membership for a fixed period only?

* Do you want all new members to start at the first piece of content, or do you want to bring them in to your membership at current piece of content?

* Are you creating a community where you and your members can interact with each other?

* Are you coaching clients and want to share specific information with each client and keep that hidden from your other clients?

Once you have this information, you can then consider the type of membership model to best suit your needs and which platform is appropriate.

When it comes to blogging success, the larger the number of subscriptions one has, the better the chances of making money through your blog. In order to increase your number of subscribers, make sure to use these 8 simple tips.

1. Have clear focus – Unless your blog has a clear focus, it\’s going to be hard to convince people to subscribe. Think of it this way – They won\’t know what to expect from your post. If you write about ten different topics, the chances are likely that they are going to pass on subscribing to your blog.

2. Write valuable content – Content is king. No matter how your blog design rocks, if your blog\’s articles do not offer value to your readers, they are most likely not going to visit your blog again. In order to grow your blog, offer as many value to your readers.

3. Publish new posts frequently and consistently – So here\’s the deal. People don\’t subscribe to dead blogs. If your blog is post regularly and consistently, this will indicate that your blog is active. This way, more readers will subscribe to your blog.

4. As few steps as possible – People are lazy in general. If your rss subscription requires more than 2 steps, the chances are likely that your readers will hesitate to subscribe. Make sure you make it as easy as possible for your readers to subscribe.

5. Explain to your readers what is RSS – As we mentioned before, it is estimated that less than 10% of the popular know about or use RSS feeds. Can you do anything about this? Sure you can! Write a post teaching your readers what RSS is, why it is good, and how they can start using it. It works particularly well on blogs that have a non tech-savvy audience.

6. Use an email subscription form – For most bloggers, an email subscription form will convert better than a simple \”Subscribe via email\” link. That is because Internet users are used to seeing those forms around, and typing their email address there is quite intuitive. The top of your sidebar is a good spot to place one.

7. Run a contest – Contests are very popular on the blogosphere. If you have a somewhat popular blog, in fact, it is not difficult to raise some prizes and create one. By making subscribing to your RSS feed a requirement to participate, you could quickly boost the number of subscribers that you have. If you want to control who is going to take this action, use the email subscription method.

8. Display the RSS icon on every page of your blog – When I started blogging I did this mistake. Only my homepage used to have an RSS icon. As soon as I added it to every single page on the blog, the number of subscribers jumped.

I\’ve seen many bloggers who gave up or seriously slow down their activity because they feel like they are not getting anywhere, when in my opinion they are on the right track. Hopefully if you are doing the right things and making progress you will recognize your growth and accomplishments, but not all do. Here are 10 signs that your blog is on the right track.

1. Growing subscriber count – If your blog\’s subscriber base is growing, even slowly, you are making some progress. Gaining trust and subscribers is not easy, so try not to get your expectations unrealistically high. If you have realistic goals for subscriber growth you will more likely be able to feel good about your progress and stay consistent with your blogging.

2. Increasing numbers of inbound links – Links determine your search engine rankings. It makes it easy for people to find your site. There\’s only two ways you can increase your links. It\’s either you write long useful articles or you do guest blogging. Personally, I recommend both.

3. Increasing Numbers of Valuable Comments – If your blog is receiving a decent amount of thought-provoking comments, that is a good sign that people are reading and paying attention to you. Comments are the lifeblood of blogs, and those that have a lot of valuable comments from readers become even more useful for readers.

4. Increasing visitors and pageviews – There are a couple of ways to increase a blog\’s visitors and pageviews. Assuming that you do it right, it\’s not hard to get few thousands visitors a month, for starters. If you don\’t however, you need to start market your blog to the people. Visitors don\’t find you. It\’s you who find them. At least that is the case usually, in the beginning.

5. Consistent posting – Consistent posting is perhaps one of the most important element to blogging success. For new bloggers, in order for your visitors to pay attention to your blog, it\’s vital for you to provide new articles for them to read. If your blog looks dead, the chances are, they won\’t subscribe. If you are posting consistently, you\’re already one step ahead of the vast majority of bloggers.

6. Improving quality of articles – Content is king. We all heard that at least once before. It\’s somewhat hard to write good articles at the go if you\’re not used to writing. The good news is, the more you write, the better you are at writing. At least usually, that is the case. How can you tell? By simply comparing your older articles to your newer ones.

7. An increasing network of bloggers – Making friends with other bloggers are crucial for blogging success. You can hardly find any successful bloggers that does not start off making connection with other bloggers. This is because; you are more likely to get links and blogging opportunities from this connection, not to mention comments.

XML schema definition languages are founded on recommendations laid down by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). They use XML 1.0 syntax and aim to explicit describe the structure of XML documents and constrain the data which they may contain. They offer a distinct improvement on the more limited schema features offered by the Document Type Definition (DTD) recommendation which formed part of the original XML specification released in 1998. The most widely used schema language is the one defined by the W3C in 2001: W3C XML Schema. However, there are alternatives, such as RELAX NG and Schematron.

Schema documents are the more sophisticated successors to DTDs and overcome some key limitations associated with them. Firstly, DTDs do not support data types. Secondly, DTDs do not support namespaces. Thirdly, DTDs do not allow developers to accurately define the number of permitted occurrences of elements within their parent element.

An XML schema describes the structure of an XML instance document by defining what each element must or may contain. An element is limited by its type. For example, an element of complex type can contain child elements and attributes, whereas a simple-type element can only contain text. The diagram below gives a first look at the types of XML Schema elements.

Schema documents serve three principal purposes. Firstly, they can be used to validate XML documents. Secondly, they can be used as a dictionary or grammar for the creation of a given class of XML document. And, thirdly, they can be used to provide documentation for XML documents.

An XML schema is itself an XML document and it contains definitions of all elements and attributes permitted in a class of XML documents. The schema also specifies the structure or hierarchy to which elements must adhere and the type of content each particular element may contain. Elements may be of the simple or complex type. Complex type elements may contain child elements as well as attributes. Simple type element may only contain data. XML documents using a particular schema are referred to as instances of the schema. An XML instance that correctly adheres to its associated schema is said to be valid.

Validation is usually the main purpose of schema documents. Validation offers many benefits. It ensures the consistency of data within a document. It ensures that data has the right structure and internal hierarchy. It ensures that data within the document structure is of the correct type. It allows us to receive data from multiple sources.

Most XML documents are produced by programs and scripts written to extract information held in databases and transform it into XML. However, it is also possible for human beings to create XML documents. Schemas can be used during this process to assist in the document creation process. XML schemas also provide a mechanism for documenting XML documents and form an important part of the specification of XML vocabularies.

Working for a company that runs Dreamweaver training courses, I am increasingly finding that there is no longer a typical user of this great web development program. Dreamweaver users now seem to come from all different types of company and from all walks of life: private individuals, financial people, marketing people, people in the health service, academicians It seems everyone needs to learn the basics of web development nowadays.

Just as the use of a graphical interface has changed computing, making it more user-friendly, the use of Adobe Dreamweaver renders people with limited understanding of web construction capable of putting together a quality site. It is also an excellent platform for learning how web sites should be put together. For example, when you create a new page, Dreamweaver lets you choose from a series of standard layouts based on CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), the recommended specification for creating web pages. The code produced by Dreamweaver contains useful comments explaining how the page layout works.

Many smaller companies have already learned to rely on Adobe Dreamweaver to build and manage their own websites, creating and altering pages and then uploading them using Dreamweaver\’s built-in FTP utility to make them live and available to their audience. Those organisations with a more pressing need to establish a web presence can still turn to a professional web development companies to get them started and then, using Adobe Dreamweaver , make changes and updates to their own pages for themselves, often saving a small fortune.

Another way that organisations can save money is by hiring web designers to create Dreamweaver templates and then basing their website on these templates in-house. This also has the benefit of giving organizations control of their site right from the outset.

Although Dreamweaver is simple to use, it is unlikely that the average user can simple load it onto their machine and start using it effectively. Most people will benefit from having some Dreamweaver training. This will show them which are the essential aspects of the program and the process of creating a basic site and making it live. A good Dreamweaver training course will also give users an overview of the may web technologies, the underlying code, which Dreamweaver uses as the users visually create their web pages.

One of the best ways to make a site useful for visitors is making it interactive, allowing users to search for the specific content that they want. By attending an advanced Dreamweaver training course, staff within an organization can learn to add database-driven content to their website using technologies such as ASP, PHP or ColdFusion. And, here again, Dreamweaver does the lion\’s share of the work, allowing users to create sophisticated search and results pages using the same simple point-and-click and drag-and-drop techniques used to create basic content.

To be a good web designer, you should design your websites to give your visitors the greatest ease of use, the best impression and most important of all a welcoming experience. It doesn\’t matter if you had the greatest product in the whole world — if your website is poorly done you won\’t be able to sell even one copy of it because visitors will be driven off your website by the lousy design.

In using the term \”good design\”, I\’m not only talking about a good graphical design. A professional web design will be able to point out that there are many components which contribute to a good website design — accessibility design, interface or layout design, user experience design and of course the most straightforward, which is graphic design.

Hence, I have highlighted some features of the worst web designs I\’ve come across. Hopefully, you will be able to compare that against your own site as a checklist and if anything on your site fits the criteria, you should know it\’s high time to take serious action!

Unless you are running a site which promotes a band, a CD or anything related to music, I would really advise you to stay away from putting looping background music onto your site. It might sound pleasant to you at first, but imagine if you ran a big site with hundreds of pages and everytime a visitor browses to another page on your site, the background music starts playing again. If I were your visitor, I\’d just turn off my speakers or leave your site. Moreover, they just add to the visitors burden when viewing your site — users on dial up connections will have to wait longer just to view your site as it is meant to be viewed.

We have established that there is more to web design than purely graphics — user accessibility is one big part of it too! You should design the text on your site to be legible and reasonably sized to enable your visitors to read it without straining their eyes. No matter how good the content of your website or your sales copy is, if it\’s illegible you won\’t be selling anything!

Popup windows seldom have a function other than to display advertisements; so, in my mind, 90% of popup windows are not worth my attention so I just close them on instinct everytime each one manages to pass through my popup blocker (yes, I do have one like many users out there!) and, well, pops up on my screen. Imagine if you had a very important message to convey and you put it in a popup window that gets killed most of the time it appears on a visitor\’s screen. Your website loses its function immediately!

In conclusion, let me remind you that as a webmaster your job is to make sure your website does what it\’s meant to do effectively. Don\’t let some minor mistakes stop your site from functioning optimally!

As we move away from the days when the printed version of a document was always the definitive one, Adobe\’s PDF format becomes more and more important. InDesign allows you to create PDF documents; you don\’t need a separate copy of Acrobat for this purpose. In addition to creating the PDF, InDesign also allows you to make it interactive, thus enhancing the user experience of anyone who opens it. To ensure that the various interactive features are included in the PDF, you must activate the \”Interactive Elements\” option in the Export PDF dialog box.

There are five main interactive features which InDesign allows you to add to your PDFs: bookmarks, links, buttons, video and transitions. When viewing a PDF file in Acrobat or Acrobat Reader, bookmarks can optionally be displayed in a panel on the left of your screen; clicking a bookmark takes you to the relevant page. Links and buttons are essentially hotspots which, when clicked, instigate an action of some sort, such as opening a web URL. QuickTime video can also be added to a PDF file and transitions are useful when you want to create PDF files that can be viewed in a similar way to PowerPoint presentations.

Bookmarks are typically generated automatically in InDesign and are linked to the table of contents feature. The table of contents definition window contains an option for creating bookmarks. If this is activated, InDesign will automatically generate a bookmark corresponding to each item in the table of contents pointing to the appropriate page.

Links can also be created from the table of contents in much the same way. Each table of contents entry will automatically become a clickable link which will take the user to the related page. In addition, InDesign has a button tool which allows users to create an invisible button superimposed on any part of a page. Using the Button Options command, you can then specify what will happen when the button is clicked. Thus, for example, you could create a button over your company logo and specify that, if it is clicked, it will take the user to your company\’s home page.

Video is imported into InDesign using the Place command in the File menu. The only recognised format is QuickTime. Once the video clip has been placed, you can right-click it and choose Movie Options. Here, you can choose when the movie plays, whether it is embedded in the PDF file or referenced externally and whether the QuickTime controller will be visible.

The Transitions panel is new to InDesign CS4 and allows you to associate transitions with all pages or selected pages within the document. Simply highlight a selection of pages and then choose the desired transition. To apply the selected transition to all pages, choose the option Apply To All Spreads.

If web design is your profession or hobby, having the proper hands-on training can mean the difference between successfully learning how to use your chosen software and struggling to discover the way that it works. Books are terrific for teaching ancient History and Literature, but when faced with the brave new world of web development, a new way of learning is in order. So, if you need to learn to use Adobe Dreamweaver, interactive training software makes a lot of sense. Rather than simply reading how things should work, you can actually see how they work by following along with training videos, tutors, and interactive tutorials.

Hands-on training is much more effective for programs like Adobe Dreamweaver, because you need to actually see how the program functions in order to understand it better. Using programming and web design software can be tricky, but with programs like Adobe Dreamweaver, you can have an easy time at designing web pages, whether for business or pleasure. The best part is that learning to use this program can also be a breeze, as long as you find the right training software and skip the books. Think about when you were a kid. Your mom might have told you that the stove was hot, but you didn\’t really understand that concept until you actually touched the stove yourself.

Learning to use web design software works in the same empirical fashion. You can read or hear about Adobe Dreamweaver and how it works, but you won\’t fully appreciate that information until you use the program for yourself. That\’s why interactive training, be it videos, tutorials, and walkthroughs, is a much better way to master computer programs than a traditional textbook or lecture setting. Getting trained using the right interactive software will allow you to kick start your web design career, and you\’ll be creating great websites in no time at all.

Your brain finds it easier to relate to things that it can see. It\’s more of a \”show me\” than a \”tell me\” animal. What this means is that you could read ten books on using Adobe Dreamweaver, but unless you actually get a hands-on training experience, you might never understand what that the program can do for you and your web pages.

It doesn\’t matter if you\’re designing a website for school, work, or just for fun. Knowing how to use Dreamweaver properly before you start will make your web designs much better, and will make the design process much simpler than if you just read a book or tried to learn it on your own.
